Connect XoT to the systems you already have
Users log in through the identity service your company already uses. So you do not need to manage users in two places.
What XoT can connect to
Directory services
A directory service is a register of users and groups. XoT can fetch users and groups from Active Directory, LDAP and Entra ID. The access rules in XMS can then be based on them.
Multi-factor authentication
Multi-factor authentication means users show at least two different kinds of proof of identity. Examples are a code on a mobile phone, a smart card or a security key such as a YubiKey.
Certificates
XMS can issue certificates. You can also use a certificate authority your company already has.
Logs and alerts
XoT can send logs to a SIEM system. It can also connect to systems that detect and stop intrusions, known as IDS and IPS.
Why it helps
Authorisation follows employment
An access rule in XMS can apply to a group in the directory service. The rule then applies only to the users in that group. If a consultant leaves, you remove them from the group. The rule then no longer covers that consultant.
So your users are kept in one place. That makes it easier to keep authorisations up to date.
