Decide who can reach the building's systems

A modern building has many connected systems and many vendors who need to reach them. At the same time, there is rarely anyone on site who is responsible for IT security.

The situation

Who has access to the building's systems?

Heating, ventilation, lifts, access control, alarms, EV chargers and meters each have their own vendor. Each vendor got a connection when their system was installed. Often each system has its own subscription, its own router and its own login. Often nobody in property management knows about them.

Unknown access

Connections remain even after a vendor no longer holds the contract.

Shared logins

A vendor's staff often share the same login. People who change jobs may still know it.

Old software

The software is rarely updated. It is often replaced only when the equipment is replaced.

No IT staff on site

Property management rarely has its own IT staff who can review the network.

How XoT helps

One authorisation per system, with an end date

Remote Access gives each vendor access to their own system. The lift vendor reaches the lifts, and the ventilation vendor reaches the ventilation. Neither of them can reach the rest of the building's network. You can make the authorisation end on the same day as the contract.

Hide and Protect hides the systems that do not need to be reached from other parts of the network. Anyone scanning the network from the guest network or from a tenant's network does not find them.

Without XoT

Each vendor has its own arrangement. No one has an overall picture of who can connect and from where.

With XoT

You have one list of all authorisations: which system, which vendor and until which date. An authorisation you revoke stops working at the Lock immediately.

Start by finding out what is there

Make a list of the systems that have remote access today. That shows you where it is best to start.
